CNC / Conventional Machine Set-Up Operator
Location: Davenport, IA
Shift: 2nd or 3rd Shift
Pay: Based on experience
Type: Temp-to-Hire (3-month duration)

Job Duties
- Sets up, operates, and adjusts CNC and conventional machine tools.
- Performs exacting tolerance setup procedures.
- Prescribes operational sequences, tooling, and speeds.
- Produces pilot workpieces for inspection to prove out setups.
- Diagnoses machine or tooling malfunctions and makes corrective adjustments.
- Trains operators on machines once setups are finalized.
- Works from route sheets, part drawings, and specifications.
- Utilizes precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, scales).
- Coordinates with cell coordinators, production scheduling, and engineering.
- Maintains cleanliness of assigned machines and work areas.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum one (1) year in a production environment.
- Technical Skills: Experience in CNC and conventional machine setup/operation.
- Work History: Demonstrated longevity on resume.
- Education: Knowledge of advanced shop math, formulas, and complicated drawings; equivalent to short-term trades training.
- Pre-Employment: Must pass a drug test and background check.
- Tools: Required to purchase personal “tools of the trade” as necessary.

- Physical: Medium effort; regularly working with average-weight material.
- Stamina: Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift.
- Mental/Visual: Continuous mental or visual attention for diversified operations.
- Environment: Typical machine shop working conditions.
