Accounts Receivable Specialist
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our accounting team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong accounting foundation, hands-on AR experience, and a commitment to accuracy, organization, and providing excellent internal and external customer service.
This is a fast-paced, collaborative office environment where team members support one another and take pride in producing high-quality work.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage a high volume of incoming emails, responding or routing as appropriate.
- Process daily cash receipts, including check, ACH, and credit card payments.
- Verify, post, and reconcile customer payments.
- Process customer credit applications and establish new customer accounts.
- Maintain customer records in ERP and CRM systems.
- Create and maintain customer shipping information.
- Monitor customer credit terms and credit limits.
- Generate and process customer invoices on daily, weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly billing cycles.
- Review shipping charges and ensure accurate freight billing.
- Process sales tax exemption certificates and related documentation.
- Process customer credit card payments.
- Monitor aging accounts and maintain customer credit watch lists.
- Perform collections on past-due accounts and document customer communications.
- Generate and distribute monthly customer statements.
- Assist with additional accounting and administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of accounting experience, with a strong emphasis in Accounts Receivable.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience working with ERP/accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
