The role involves supporting and enhancing OMS platforms used for portfolio management, trading, compliance, and operations, with a focus on integrating and optimizing third-party systems in a complex investment environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation, enhancement, and support of OMS applications and their integration with other systems within the current application landscape.
- Evaluate multiple OMS applications available in the market to identify suitable solutions for organizational needs.
- Design and optimize ETL mechanisms to facilitate data transfer and processing across platforms.
- Collaborate with investment management, operations, data, and technology teams to understand platform pain points and develop solutions to improve functionality and efficiency, especially during migration efforts.
- Plan and execute configuration changes, workflow improvements, and system enhancements to increase overall platform performance.
- Leverage experience with third-party OMS applications to establish and promote standard practices for implementation and support.
- Troubleshoot and support custom workflows within OMS systems, with an initial focus on front office activities.
- Train staff to build internal knowledge and capabilities related to OMS systems and processes.
- 7 years’ experience in the investment management industry working with buy-side firms.
- Experience working with complex pension funds and high levels of internal management is highly preferred.
- Broad investment knowledge across public markets, including equities, fixed income, derivatives, and alternative investments.
- 7 years’ experience working with order management systems such as Charles River, Blackrock Aladdin, or similar platforms, including support, enhancements, and integrations.
- Demonstrated participation in all lifecycle phases of OMS systems, including implementation, upgrades, third-party integrations, and process optimization.
- Strong network of clients and firms with similar profiles, capable of establishing connections between organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or additional professional credentials preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience delivering stakeholder training.
- Experience working with investment management firms as a Senior Business Analyst for OMS/EMS applications.
- Familiarity with third-party systems such as Simcorp Dimension, Eagle STAR/PACE, FactSet, Bloomberg.
