Job Description:
Delamar Traverse City is seeking a polished, hospitality-driven Restaurant Manager to lead Artisan Waterfront Restaurant & Tavern. Set on Grand Traverse Bay, Artisan pairs Great Lakes-inspired, New American cuisine with a fine dining room, an elegantly casual tavern, and a seasonal patio — a destination that's fine dining at heart, yet warm and welcoming enough for every guest. This role owns the full guest and team experience: setting the tone for service, developing talent, and running a tight, profitable operation. It's an excellent next step for a career hospitality leader ready to run a high-profile, high-volume outlet. Strong food and wine knowledge is a must.
Job Duties:
- Own the guest experience across Artisan's dining room, tavern, and patio — setting service standards and leading by visible, hands-on presence.
- Lead, train, and develop the front-of-house team, building a culture of hospitality, accountability, and growth.
- Manage daily operations end to end: shift setup and breakdown, reservations, inventory, ordering, and cross-department communication.
- Balance an elevated guest experience with sound business fundamentals — payroll, cost controls, and adherence to budget.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, alcohol service, and safety regulations across the operation.
- Resolve guest concerns swiftly and thoughtfully, ensuring every visit reflects Artisan's standard of hospitality.
- Serve as a knowledgeable ambassador for Artisan and the Delamar property, connecting guests to the broader hotel and local experience.
Requirements:
- 2–3 years of management experience in a fine dining or upscale restaurant/bar setting, ideally within a luxury hospitality property.
- Strong knowledge of food, wine, and fine dining service standards.
- Proven leadership skills — able to train, motivate, and set the tone for a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Polished, professional presence with a genuine, welcoming warmth.
Physical demands: this role requires standing for extended periods and the ability to reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
