Job Description Summary
The purpose of this position is to help plan a system of outreach and recruitment services and activities for prospective ESL students within the community. The ESL Outreach Coordinator will report to the Director of ESL. This position will work to identify and promote ESL programs to public and private organizations.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree.
One (1) year of experience in program outreach, community organizing, and event planning.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge of student eligibility.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to lead presentations for ISDs across South Texas, as well as on campus.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced adult education environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Three (3) years of experience in program outreach, community organizing, and event planning.

Help plan a system of outreach and recruitment services and activities for prospective students at high schools, community partners, other College departments, and federal/state/local agencies that provide student services.
Job Duty
Assist prospective students with the ESL program registration process; provide information and assistance to prospective students regarding general program information, advising, orientation, testing, foreign transcript translation and evaluation, special populations assistance, etc.

Assist the Director of ESL in developing brochures and handouts, and compile information for future use by students and the general public; maintain and update outreach files; prepare and submit outreach reports as needed.

Maintain a professional demeanor when counseling students and accurately identify any barriers in achieving goals and discuss or suggest effective alternatives.
Job Duty
Represent the ESL program by attending college fairs, job fairs and community events, outreach activities, and other special events through on-site visits, presentations, workshops, etc.
