We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Permanent Substitute Groundsman to join our dynamic grounds maintenance team. Responsibilities
- Perform lawn care tasks including mowing, edging, fertilizing, and aerating to promote healthy turf growth.
- Conduct landscape maintenance such as planting, pruning, shrubbery trimming, and flower bed upkeep.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery like excavators for construction or hardscape projects.
- Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting, repairing, and adjusting sprinklers to ensure efficient watering.
- Carry out snow plowing and snow removal during winter months to keep pathways safe and accessible.
- Support tree care activities including trimming, pruning, and hazard assessment to promote safety and health.
- Assist with gardening projects and landscape installations involving hardscape features such as patios or walkways.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated mechanical knowledge with experience operating lawn mowers, power tools, and landscaping equipment.
- Prior experience in lawn care, landscape maintenance, or gardening is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with tree care practices including trimming and pruning techniques.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators or similar construction equipment is a plus.
- Knowledge of horticulture principles and irrigation systems to support plant health.
- Strong work ethic with the flexibility to adapt to various outdoor tasks in different weather conditions.
