Every client campaign lives or dies by the strength of its execution. This position sits at the center of our content machine, giving you the responsibility to shape how different audiences interact with our clients' brands daily. We do not want writers who simply fill boxes with text. We need a collaborator who understands how to capture a brand voice instantly, match it to the right platform, and hit deadlines every time. About the Role

Reporting to the Account & Communications Director, and collaborating directly with the creative, digital, and PR teams, the Creative Copywriter owns the tactical generation of multi-channel marketing copy. This role combines:

  • Multi-channel digital and traditional copywriting.
  • Audience research and brand voice compliance.
  • AI-assisted content optimization and workflow acceleration.
  • Cross-discipline campaign asset creation.


You are fundamentally responsible for executing client messaging maps on time, every time, ensuring all output satisfies specific strategic business objectives.


Who You Are

You are an agile writer who values variety and hates writing the same corporate fluff all day. You stay curious about how people communicate online and offline.

  • Managing a high-volume queue of diverse deliverables under tight deadlines.
  • Deconstructing complex, technical business concepts into plain, persuasive language.
  • Deploying modern AI tools to accelerate research and rough drafting while maintaining final editorial control.
  • Collaborating with designers to ensure copy and visual assets align perfectly.


Areas of Responsibility

Content Creation & Multi-Channel Writing

  • Write copy across a wide variety of channels, including social media, digital advertising, print advertising, out-of-home (OOH), websites, email campaigns, blogs and articles, executive thought leadership, video scripts, brochures and collateral, direct mail, and presentation materials.
  • Develop witty, conversational, and audience-appropriate copy that aligns with brand voice.
  • Adapt messaging across multiple industries and client sectors.
  • Edit and proofread content for clarity, accuracy, and consistency while maintaining brand voice and editorial standards.

Campaign Strategy & Ideation

  • Brainstorm and develop original concepts for integrated marketing campaigns and brand stories.
  • Help shape content calendars and campaign roadmaps.
  • Ensure consistency across traditional and digital media.
  • Stay informed on cultural trends, emerging platforms, and evolving consumer behaviors.

Research & Modern Content Tools

  • Conduct research to understand audiences, competitors, and industry trends to create targeted messaging.
  • Translate technical or complex topics into accessible, engaging content.
  • Utilize AI platforms to improve efficiency, research, and ideation, using critical thinking and editorial judgment to refine any AI-assisted drafts.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Advertising, or a related field. Equivalent experience considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of professional copywriting experience within a marketing, advertising, agency, or corporate communications environment.
  • Portfolio: A portfolio demonstrating execution across multiple channels
  • Skills: Exceptional editing, proofreading, and time management capabilities with a proven track record of handling multiple clients simultaneously.
  • Required Software: Familiarity with AI content generation tools and standard digital workspace platforms.


Preferred:

Experience collaborating across different creative and account teams to build integrated campaigns from scratch.

Salary Range:

$40,000 - $50,000 (Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity and location)


Schedule & Location: 

Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Chicago, IL or Decatur, IL - Hybrid Option Available
