Service Clerk

POSITION SUMMARY

A Dave’s Fresh Marketplace Service Clerk must be a friendly, energetic, and self-motivated individual. Service Clerks are primarily responsible for carriage retrieval, and are additionally required to perform a variety of light housekeeping and maintenance duties to ensure smooth store operations. Service Clerk duties are designed to effectively maintain the safety of all Dave’s Fresh Marketplace customers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

·        Must be 16 years of age or older

·        Must be comfortable with customer facing interactions

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

·         Ensuring that customers receive outstanding customer service by providing a friendly environment – includes greeting and acknowledging customers, smiling, making eye contact, and thanking customers upon fulfilling their requests

·         Ensure that loose carriages are brought back quickly to the store to minimize loss and then carriages from the parking lot corrals are brought back to the store’s entrance promptly

·         Keep carriages clean of debris

·         Keep hand baskets stocked at the front entrance

·         Greeting customers in a friendly, courteous manner

·         Providing customer assistance as requested

·         Promptly respond to all calls, such as clean-up calls and requests for customer assistance

·         Respond appropriately to spills, utilizing safety precautions for cleaning spills

·         Clean and maintain the condition of the store’s floor, foyers, restrooms, parking lot, and walkways in an appropriate manner, utilizing authorized cleaning methods, products, and equipment

·         Performing sweeping duties of the store’s sales floor at the required times each day and signing the cleaning log after completion of sweeping duties

·         Adhere to cleaning schedule for all functions including, but not limited to: cleaning the bathrooms, refilling paper towels and soap dispensers, maintaining clear trash areas, and keeping wet floor signs clean and off the floor unless in use for a spill

·         Report potentially unsafe conditions

·         Adhering to all Dave’s Fresh Marketplace policies, procedures, and practices including signing, pricing, and loss prevention

·         Performing other duties as assigned

·         Adherence to department-specific dress code policy

·         Completes all cleaning tasks as required

·         Completes all logs as required

·         Follows all safety practices and procedures

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

·         Proper handling of equipment such as shopping carts, cart straps, and if over the age of 18, boxcutters, compactors, and garbage disposals

·         Ability to read and comprehend instructions

·         Ability to provide/receive constructive feedback

·         Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized

·         Reliable and dependable; able to work a flexible schedule – including weekends

·         Must be available to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week

·         Verbal skills – ability to effectively communicate with customers to maintain high standards of customer service

·         Ability to self-motivate and stay on task without constant supervision
