Position Overview
About the Role
We’re seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused professional to support our Court Customer Services Department. The Customer Service Clerk plays a vital role in ensuring customers receive timely, accurate, and compassionate assistance. You’ll support daily court operations, maintain high service standards, and help keep essential processes running smoothly.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will support the Customer Services team by:
- Providing exceptional customer service with empathy, professionalism, and a commitment to high-quality interactions
- Managing assigned case tracks and completing all related functions
- Processing financial transactions across multiple platforms, including accepting cash with accuracy
- Preparing documents for scanning into the case management system
- Determining indigent prerequisites
- Completing service of process and issuing subpoenas
- Entering case information accurately into the case management system
- Processing records requests via Court Records Inquiry (CRI)
- Assisting jury customers through the Call Center
- Prioritizing workload to meet time standards set by leadership
- Preparing documents and orders for scanning into court systems
- Setting up payment arrangements in accordance with compliance policies
- Scheduling hearings
- Processing incoming mail as assigned
- Supporting special projects and other duties as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Microsoft Outlook & Word proficiency preferred
- Accurate keyboarding, data entry, and sequential filing skills
- Strong business English and business math skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Proficiency with PC operations and printers
- Professional demeanor, strong work ethic, and effective interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use tact in sensitive situations
- Ability to work extended hours as needed
- Work performed with moderate supervision
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Two years of clerical experience, or a combination of education and experience demonstrating ability to perform the duties
Two years of customer service experience
Cash-handling experience preferred
