Pizza & Sandwiches Clerk

POSITION SUMMARY

A role in Dave’s Fresh Marketplace Pizza & Sandwiches department will include serving customers, preparing pizzas, paninis, and sandwiches. This role ensures a positive image by preparing quality foods and providing excellent customer service.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior food service experience preferred, but not required

• Must be 18 years of age or older

• Must be comfortable with customer facing interactions

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Ensuring that each customer receives outstanding customer service by providing a friendly environment – includes greeting and acknowledging customers, smiling, making eye contact, and all other components of customer service

• Provide customers with consistent, high-quality pizza, sandwiches, and other items as needed

• Ability to safely operate all cooking equipment; I.E., brick oven

• Accurately take customer orders, whether in-person or via phone call

• Ensure a fresh, appealing display of products by keeping pizza board and cases clean and stocked

• Maintain accurate signage

• Ensures proper temperatures in all cases and on the board

• Wrapping, pricing, and packing products per customer order

• Has knowledge of weekly ad items, especially pizza & sandwich products

• Awareness of food allergens; able to answer customer questions regarding food allergens

• Prepare pizza, sandwiches, etc. with strict adherence to Dave’s Fresh Marketplace recipes and quality standards

• Cutting gloves must be worn on non-cutting hand while cutting any product. This policy is mandatory

• Cleaning of the department, equipment, and cases/pizza board

• Assists Brick Oven Pizza Manager as needed

• Ability to train onboarding Pizza & Sandwich Clerks

• Adherence to department-specific dress code policy

• Complete all department logs and cleaning tasks as required

• Strict adherence to all Food Safety & Sanitation procedures

• Adhering to all Dave’s Fresh Marketplace policies, procedures, and practices including signing, pricing, and loss prevention

• Performing other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Effective customer service skills, ensuring customer satisfaction

• Proper handling of equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, and hand trucks

• Ability to examine food for freshness

• Willingness to collaborate – must be able to work well in a team environment

• Ability to learn basic knowledge of all products and recipes

• Must be willing to participate in further training – I.E., food safety training

• Understands and can communicate ingredient information to customers • Ability to provide/receive constructive feedback

• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized

• Reliable and dependable; able to work a flexible schedule – including weekends

• Must be able to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week

• Ability to solve practical problems

• Highly motivated – ability to successfully work in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. constantly, 25-50 lbs. occasionally
