This Project Manager role is ideal for an architectural professional who enjoys staying close to design while being directly involved in execution. The position sits at the intersection of architecture, building materials, and project delivery, supporting architects, designers, and contractors from early design-assist through fabrication, installation, and closeout.
The ideal candidate has an architecture or architectural design background, is fluent in BIM and AutoCAD, understands how buildings are detailed and built, and is comfortable collaborating with both design teams and construction partners.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign-Assist and Architectural Coordination
- Serve as a technical and design partner to architects and designers during schematic design, design development, and construction documentation phases.
- Review architectural and MEP drawings to ensure proper integration, constructability, and alignment with design intent.
- Prepare, review, and revise BIM and AutoCAD drawings for layouts, dimensions, clearances, and coordination with adjacent trades.
- Support submittals, shop drawings, and specification reviews, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
Project Management
- Manage the full lifecycle of commercial projects from pre-sale design support through fabrication, delivery, installation coordination, and closeout.
- Track schedules, approvals, RFIs, change orders, and deliverables across multiple projects.
- Coordinate with internal teams, fabricators, and installers to ensure projects are executed according to drawings and design intent.
- Identify and resolve design or field conflicts early to minimize downstream issues.
Building Materials and Technical Knowledge
- Apply a strong understanding of commercial building materials, assemblies, and detailing, including solid surface, stone, quartz, plumbing fixtures, and specialty architectural products.
- Evaluate material selections for performance, aesthetics, code compliance, and constructability.
- Validate field conditions and rough-in requirements related to electrical, plumbing, and mounting conditions.
Client and Stakeholder Collaboration
- Act as the primary point of contact for architects, designers, contractors, and owners.
- Lead design coordination meetings and technical discussions with confidence and clarity.
- Communicate schedules, risks, and next steps clearly to maintain trust and alignment.
Business Development Support
- Support business development efforts through design-assist engagement, technical presentations, and proposal support.
- Assist with takeoffs, estimates, and responses to architectural and contractor inquiries.
- Build long-term relationships within the architecture and design community.
- Bachelor or Master degree in Architecture, Architectural Design, or a closely related field.
- 3 years of experience in architecture, architectural project management, design-assist, or a related role within the AEC industry.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; BIM experience required (Revit preferred).
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and coordinate construction documents and specifications.
- Working knowledge of building systems, materials, and detailing.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
