A well-established federal general contractor with a national footprint is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field execution of large-scale, mission critical federal construction programs across the United States. This is a traveling role operating on a structured rotational schedule, allowing predictable home time while working on some of the most complex federal construction projects in the country.
Current and upcoming projects are located at secure federal installations including Tinker AFB, Fort Smith, Ellsworth AFB, and F.E. Warren AFB, with additional work nationwide. These are long-duration, high-visibility programs supporting critical military and government missions.
This opportunity is ideal for Superintendents who have led 50M and larger federal or public-sector projects, thrive in regulated environments, and take ownership of schedule, safety, quality, and field coordination.
What You Will Do
- Lead all day-to-day field operations on large-scale federal construction projects
- Serve as the primary on-site leader from mobilization through substantial completion
- Manage execution of high-dollar programs, typically 50M and above, with multi-phase scopes
- Coordinate and supervise all trades including civil, structural, architectural, MEP, and finishes
- Enforce compliance with federal contract requirements, safety standards, and quality control plans
- Develop and manage short-interval schedules in coordination with the Project Manager
- Lead subcontractor coordination, sequencing, and field productivity
- Conduct daily site walks, safety meetings, and toolbox talks
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EM 385, USACE, NAVFAC, AFCEC, and other agency requirements as applicable
- Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and turnover activities
- Maintain daily reports, field logs, and as-built documentation
- Act as the on-site point of contact for owners, inspectors, and government representatives
- Support project startup, site logistics planning, and closeout activities
- Travel to project sites on a predictable rotational schedule
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent on large-scale commercial, public, or federal projects
- Direct experience leading construction programs valued at 50M or greater
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-discipline work in active or occupied facilities
- Experience working under government-funded contracts; federal experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, means and methods, and schedule-driven execution
- Demonstrated leadership of large subcontractor teams and multiple trade scopes
- Experience working in secure, regulated, or operational environments
- Strong safety leadership background with disciplined documentation practices
- Proficiency with Procore or similar construction management platforms
- OSHA 30 required
- EM 385, USACE, NAVFAC, or AFCEC experience is a strong plus
