Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Personal Injury Attorney to represent individuals injured through negligence or misconduct. The attorney will manage a plaintiff-focused caseload, develop case strategy, handle investigations, pursue settlement negotiations, and litigate cases to resolution including trials when necessary. This role requires strong advocacy, excellent client service, and the ability to manage complex matters from intake through verdict or settlement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a plaintiff-side personal injury caseload, including motor vehicle accidents, slips and falls, construction injuries, and workplace incidents.
- Conduct factual and legal investigations, gather evidence, interview witnesses, and consult with experts to build strong cases.
- Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, demand letters, settlement agreements, and other court documents.
- Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and coordinate with co-counsel and experts for trial readiness.
- Negotiate settlements with opposing parties, insurance carriers, and adjusters to secure fair compensation for clients.
- Represent clients at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and jury trials when necessary.
- Maintain clear, compassionate communication with clients, providing case updates, advising on strategy, and managing expectations.
- Manage case budgets, billing, and documentation to ensure timely and efficient resolution of matters.
- Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to prepare exhibits, trial binders, and demonstration materials.
- Stay current on developments in personal injury law, courtroom procedures, and relevant statutory and case law.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the state bar.
- 5 years of experience handling plaintiff-side personal injury litigation, or equivalent experience with demonstrable trial exposure.
- Proven experience with motor vehicle accident, slip and fall, construction injury, and labor-related claims preferred.
- Strong litigation skills including motion practice, depositions, trial preparation, and courtroom advocacy.
- Track record of negotiating favorable settlements and taking cases to trial when necessary.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage heavy caseloads, prioritize tasks, and meet critical deadlines.
- Demonstrated client management skills with empathy, responsiveness, and ethical judgment.
- Familiarity with case management software, e-filing systems, and standard office productivity tools.
- Preferred skills: Attorney, Plaintiff advocacy, Personal Injury, Motor Vehicle Accidents, Slips and Falls, Construction injury claims, Labor Law issues, trial experience, Litigation, Depositions, Settlements.
