The successful candidate will manage project delivery from pre-construction through commissioning, ensuring schedule, budget, safety, quality, and technical requirements for process utilities, HVAC, process piping and cleanroom MEP systems are met. This role requires excellent construction management skills, proven semiconductor industry knowledge, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and subcontractors in highprecision environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage MEP scope for semiconductor projects including mechanical systems, HVAC, process piping (chemical, DI water, chilled water), gas and vacuum utilities, and associated electrical and plumbing systems.
- Serve as primary client and contractor interface for MEP issues; build strong relationships with owners, design teams, general contractors, vendors and subcontractors.
- Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets for MEP work; track progress, forecast costs, manage cash flow and drive ontime performance.
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems, including FAT/SAT coordination, punch list resolution and turnover documentation for cleanrooms and process utilities.
- Review and coordinate design documents, shop drawings, RFIs, submittals and change orders; ensure constructability, compliance with codes and semiconductor process requirements.
- Implement quality assurance and quality control processes specific to semiconductor facilities (cleanroom standards, particle control, chemical handling, documentation traceability).
- Manage safety and risk on site; enforce project safety plans, hazardous material handling protocols and contractor safety compliance.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams using BIM/Revit and clash detection workflows; ensure alignment between MEP, structural, architectural and process engineering disciplines.
- Mentor and lead MEP discipline leads and field staff; administer performance reviews, staffing plans and subcontractor oversight to meet project milestones.
- Prepare technical reports, project status updates, executive presentations and closeout documentation; ensure records, O&M manuals and asbuilt deliverables are complete and accurate.
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing Engineering, Construction Management or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 7 years of progressive MEP project management experience with at least 35 years on semiconductor or hightech manufacturing projects (wafer fabs, advanced packaging, or similar).
- Demonstrated expertise in mechanical systems, HVAC for cleanrooms, process piping (chemical, DI water, chilled water), gas and vacuum utilities specific to semiconductor facilities.
- Strong construction management background: scheduling (MS Project or Primavera), cost control, change management, subcontractor procurement and contract administration.
- Proficient with BIM/Revit, AutoCAD, clash detection workflows and coordination practices for MEP systems.
- Working knowledge of industry codes and standards (ASME, NFPA, IMC, IPC, SEMI standards) and cleanroom classifications and protocols.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills; proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in fastpaced, qualitydriven environments.
- Experience with commissioning, FAT/SAT, QA/QC procedures and site safety programs; OSHA 30 or equivalent preferred.
- Professional certifications such as PE, PMP or CCM are a plus.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and work extended hours during critical phases.
