Job Title: Mechanical Preconstruction Lead
Location: North Ridgeville, OH
Salary Rate: $120,000 - $160,000
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Preconstruction Lead to manage commercial & industrial mechanical preconstruction. The ideal candidate will have experience with accubid, and mechanical estimating in manufacturing facilities, healthcare, hospitality, and more. If that sounds like you, please apply.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop detailed mechanical estimates and budgets for commercial and industrial projects.
- Review mechanical drawings and specifications to confirm accuracy, completeness, and constructability.
- Collaborate with design teams, owners, and trade partners to refine scope and optimize cost.
- Lead value-engineering efforts to identify meaningful cost-saving opportunities without compromising performance.
- Prepare risk assessments and contribute to procurement strategies that support project goals.
- Maintain preconstruction schedules and ensure mechanical estimates are delivered on time.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
Education & Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience in mechanical estimating or preconstruction.
- Experience using BIM and virtual design tools.
- Familiarity with sustainable building practices and LEED certification.
- Background in design-build or integrated project delivery environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of process piping, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Accubid is a plus.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
