Position Summary
We are seeking a Mechanical Preconstruction Leader to support our North Ridgeville operations. This role is responsible for leading mechanical estimating and planning efforts during the preconstruction phase. The Mechanical Preconstruction Leader will ensure accurate budgets, conduct constructability reviews, and drive value engineering initiatives for HVAC, plumbing, process piping, and other mechanical systems—helping deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed mechanical estimates and budgets for commercial and industrial projects
- Review mechanical drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy, completeness, and constructability
- Collaborate with design teams, owners, and trade partners to optimize scope, schedule, and cost
- Lead value engineering efforts to identify cost-saving and performance-enhancing opportunities
- Prepare risk assessments and provide input on procurement and buyout strategies
- Maintain preconstruction schedules and ensure timely delivery of mechanical estimates and deliverables
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, internal teams, and key stakeholders
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including process piping, HVAC, and plumbing
- Experience with BIM and virtual design/construction tools
- Familiarity with sustainable building practices and LEED certification
- Design-build and/or integrated project delivery experience
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Accubid estimating software is a plus
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of mechanical estimating and/or preconstruction experience
Pay: $95,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
