Business Development Manager - North America - Packaging Industry - Remote
Position Overview
We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to lead commercial growth across North America. This role is responsible for building and executing a territory strategy, generating and qualifying B2B opportunities, managing a healthy pipeline, and closing revenue-driving deals. The ideal candidate combines strong prospecting skills with commercial acumen, stakeholder management, and the ability to coordinate with operations, supply chain and customer success teams to deliver end-to-end solutions. Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce) and forecasting is required; knowledge of sustainability, logistics, and brand contracts is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a North America business development strategy to meet and exceed revenue targets and market share goals.
- Identify, prospect, and qualify new B2B opportunities through targeted outreach, networking, and industry events.
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline and perform regular pipeline reviews and accurate forecasting.
- Lead negotiations and close commercial agreements, including pricing, quotes, and brand contracts, while protecting margin and commercial interests.
- Manage key account relationships to drive retention, growth, cross-sell and upsell opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Procurement, and Logistics teams to ensure feasibility, delivery and client satisfaction.
- Partner with Customer Success and Account Management teams to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing client value realization.
- Maintain and update CRM (Salesforce) with activities, opportunities, forecasts and customer insights.
- Prepare and present sales reports, market feedback, and competitive intelligence to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences and customer meetings to build brand awareness and generate leads.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain or related field.
- 5 years of demonstrated B2B business development or commercial sales experience in North America with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
- Strong prospecting skills and experience building and managing a sales pipeline and forecasting revenue.
- Proven experience negotiating deals, preparing quotes and pricing strategies, and closing commercial contracts.
- Hands-on experience using CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) to manage leads, opportunities and forecasts.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement or Customer Success teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management, relationship building and communication skills with internal and external partners.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales metrics and market data to inform strategy.
- Willingness to travel within North America as required. Candidate must reside within the US, ideally within the EST or CST time zones.
