Associate Attorney
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our growing law firm. The Associate Attorney will provide high-quality legal services in litigation and transactional matters, support client representation, and assist senior attorneys with case strategy and trial preparation. The ideal candidate is a diligent advocate with strong legal writing skills, practical experience in contract law and compliance, and familiarity with alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation and arbitration.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in litigation matters, including drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Conduct legal research and produce clear, persuasive legal writing for court filings and client communications.
- Advise clients on contract drafting, review, negotiation, and enforcement.
- Manage case files and coordinate discovery, depositions, hearings, and trial logistics.
- Prepare for trial by developing case strategy, preparing witnesses, exhibits, and trial binders.
- Participate in mediation and arbitration sessions and assist in settlement negotiations.
- Provide counsel on compliance matters, risk management, and regulatory issues.
- Handle intellectual property and real estate transactional matters, including due diligence and contract drafting, where applicable.
- Interact directly with clients to gather facts, advise on legal options, and maintain client relationships.
- Work collaboratively with partners and support staff to meet deadlines and billable targets.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the Washington State bar in good standing.
- 3 years of experience in litigation and transactional practice, preferably with exposure to contract law and intellectual property or real estate matters.
- Demonstrated experience in legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, contracts, and settlement agreements.
- Proven negotiation skills and experience representing clients in dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration.
- Familiarity with trial preparation and courtroom procedures; trial experience preferred.
- Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts to clients.
- Knowledge of compliance practices, regulatory frameworks, and risk assessment.
- Excellent case management and organizational abilities, including experience with case management software and e-filing systems.
- High ethical standards, professionalism, and ability to manage confidential client information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, handle multiple matters simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
