About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team and support full-cycle payroll operations in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of end-to-end payroll processing, extensive experience working within a healthcare organization, and hands-on proficiency with UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) systems.
This role ensures accurate, timely payroll delivery and supports compliance with federal, state, and healthcare regulatory requirements. The Payroll Specialist works closely with HR, Finance, and departmental leaders to maintain payroll integrity and provide exceptional service to employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Process full end-to-end payroll for healthcare staff, including hourly, salaried, clinical, and non-clinical employees.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records in UKG, ensuring accuracy of schedules, timecards, pay rates, and deductions.
- Review, audit, and reconcile timekeeping data, resolving discrepancies with managers and employees.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and healthcare-specific payroll laws, including wage and hour regulations, overtime rules, and credentialing-related pay requirements.
- Prepare and validate payroll reports, including pre- and post-processing audits.
- Manage employee inquiries related to pay, timekeeping, leave balances, and deductions with a high level of customer service.
- Coordinate payroll-related activities with HR and Finance teams, including benefits, onboarding/offboarding, and compensation adjustments.
- Support year-end processes such as W-2 preparation, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Assist with system updates, testing, configuration, and optimization within UKG.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive employee information at all times.
Qualifications
- Required: Hands-on experience with UKG (Kronos/UltiPro) payroll and timekeeping systems.
- Required: Minimum 3–5 years of full-cycle payroll processing experience in a healthcare environment.
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, healthcare wage rules, and timekeeping best practices.
- High proficiency in Excel and payroll reporting tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive data with integrity.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- CPP certification a plus but not required.
Salary : $70,000 - $75,000
