Overview:
Our client in Santa Ana is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Specialist to manage full-cycle payroll and support HR/finance operations. This role requires strong accuracy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle sensitive employee data with confidentiality. The ideal candidate has experience processing multi-state payroll and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
Process weekly/bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees
Review and verify timesheets, hours worked, earnings, deductions, and adjustments
Maintain payroll records and ensure accuracy of employee data in the HRIS/payroll system
Handle payroll-related inquiries and provide responsive support to employees
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Prepare and reconcile payroll reports for accounting and leadership
Process garnishments, benefits deductions, bonuses, and special payments
Support year-end activities including W-2s and audits
Collaborate with HR and Finance to maintain efficient processes and continuous improvement
2 years of payroll experience (multi-state experience preferred)
Working knowledge of payroll systems (ADP, UKG, Paycom, or similar)
Strong understanding of payroll laws and compliance requirements
High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
Proficient in Excel and comfortable with data/reporting
Strong communication and customer-service mindset
Salary : $30 - $35
