Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a UI/UX Designer 4. The work will be done in a hybrid setting (2–3 days onsite per week, with the ability to return full-time onsite if required) in Tucson, AZ. This is a long-term position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $69/hr full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
The UI/UX Designer 4 will lead user research and experience design efforts focused on complex physical-digital systems, including machine interfaces and operator experiences. This role is responsible for translating qualitative and quantitative research into actionable insights that shape intuitive, safe, and efficient user interactions. The designer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop UX strategies, prototypes, and design artifacts that align with product goals. This position offers the opportunity to influence next-generation user experiences in advanced equipment and technology environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Translate research findings (usability testing, field studies, simulations) into prioritized UX recommendations
• Identify operator, customer, and business needs and develop evidence-based interaction concepts
• Plan and facilitate UX research for complex physical-digital systems
• Collaborate with designers, engineers, and stakeholders on prototype development and iteration
• Create UX deliverables such as journey maps, task flows, storyboards, and experience maps
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Psychology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 8 years of experience in UX research and user experience design, preferably in a corporate or B2B environment
• Strong understanding of UI/UX design principles, interaction design, and visual design fundamentals
• Experience with prototyping and UI design tools
• Experience in ergonomics and HMI (Human Machine Interface) research
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Project management experience
• Experience in automotive, heavy equipment, or related industries
• Strong data storytelling and research synthesis capabilities
