Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Project Engineer 3. The work will be done onsite in Lafayette, IN. This is a long-term position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $57/hr full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
The Project Engineer 3 will serve as a key liaison between engineering and manufacturing teams, supporting the resolution of build and quality issues within a large-scale production environment. This role focuses on troubleshooting electrical systems, improving product quality, and enhancing build efficiency through collaboration with cross-functional teams. The engineer will work closely with operations, suppliers, and global engineering teams to investigate issues, document findings, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This position offers strong exposure to shop floor operations, product development, and real-time problem-solving in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Act as the primary liaison between engineering and manufacturing to support build and quality issue resolution
• Investigate and troubleshoot electrical system and assembly issues on the production floor
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product quality and build efficiency
• Document assembly practices, gather shop floor data, and support engineering change requests (ECRs)
• Track, manage, and support continuous improvement initiatives and quality-related engineering requests
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Agricultural Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience (internship experience applicable)
• Strong understanding of electrical design and troubleshooting
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, prints, and schematics
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Creo and Teamcenter
• Background in engine systems or electrical systems
• Experience working in manufacturing or production environments
• Strong problem-solving skills with exposure to continuous improvement processes
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and shop floor personnel
