Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Quality/Test Engineer 2. The work will be done onsite in Peoria, IL. This is a long-term position (12 months) that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $36/hr full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
The Product Support Engineer (Quality/Test Engineer 2) serves as a key point of contact for technical support related to product health and performance issues across a wide range of industrial equipment. This role focuses on triaging product issues, investigating root causes, and providing both interim and permanent solutions to restore functionality. The engineer will work closely with internal teams and external partners to manage issues through resolution while capturing data for continuous product improvement. This position offers exposure to product support systems, failure analysis, and enterprise-level engineering processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the first point of contact for technical inquiries related to product health and performance
• Perform initial triage of product issues, including receiving and documenting incident reports
• Investigate product issues using failure analysis techniques and available system data
• Provide interim and permanent repair solutions to restore product functionality
• Manage technical inquiries through to resolution while maintaining accurate documentation for future analysis
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 2–5 years of experience in product support, quality engineering, or related field
• Strong mechanical or product knowledge with hands-on equipment experience
• Experience with failure analysis, troubleshooting, and technical problem resolution
• Ability to navigate engineering systems and document technical findings effectively
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with product support systems and dealer support networks
• Experience working with industrial equipment or heavy machinery
• Strong understanding of continuous product improvement (CPI) processes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in cross-functional environments
