Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for an Electrical Engineer 2. The work will be done onsite full-time in Tucson, AZ. This is a long-term position (24 months) that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $34.50/hr full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, and validation of electrical systems and components in a manufacturing and engineering environment. This role focuses heavily on electrical harness design, drawing review, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate designs, improve system performance, and support product development efforts. This position offers hands-on exposure to electrical systems, CAD modeling, and engineering processes in a collaborative and technically driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and test electrical equipment, components, and systems including wiring, controls, and lighting
• Review and validate engineering drawings to ensure compliance with standards and specifications
• Support electrical harness design and component integration across systems
• Evaluate cost, reliability, and safety of design models and recommend improvements
• Simulate and test system performance to ensure proper functionality
• Estimate project timelines and support cost analysis activities
• Investigate vendor and competitor products to support design decisions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve design issues and improve product quality
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Associate degree with relevant experience considered)
• 2–4 years of relevant electrical engineering experience (internships considered)
• Experience with electrical harnesses and components
• Experience with CAD software (preferably PTC Creo)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and drawing layouts
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Teamcenter or similar PLM systems
• Knowledge of ASME engineering standards
• Exposure to manufacturing or heavy equipment environments
• Basic project management or scheduling experience
