Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Process Control Engineer 3. The work will be done onsite full-time in Tucson, AZ. This is a long-term position (24 months) that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $48/hr full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
We are seeking a Process Control Engineer with a strong procurement and supplier engineering background to support advanced manufacturing and new technology development programs. This is a hybrid engineering supplier-facing role, where the ideal candidate understands both engineering requirements and sourcing/procurement processes.
The engineer will work closely with internal engineering teams and external suppliers to ensure components are designed for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and quality, while also supporting RFQs, APQP activities, and supplier coordination. This role is highly collaborative and requires someone comfortable working across engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing functions.
What the Hiring Manager is Looking For
- Engineering background with supplier/procurement experience (not purely data-focused)
- Experience working with RFQs, purchase orders, and supplier communication
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D CAD models
- Exposure to APQP / PPAP processes (basic understanding required)
- Strong data analysis skills (Excel is sufficient) to support decision-making
- Experience supporting hydraulic or electrical components/systems is highly preferred
- Someone who can bridge the gap between engineering design and supplier execution
- Comfortable with 25% domestic travel and working onsite full-time
- Open to candidates willing to relocate to Tucson, AZ
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze production methods, workflows, and operational data to improve efficiency and performance
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications to ensure quality and reliability
- Collaborate with engineering teams and suppliers to support design for manufacturability and sourcing activities
- Support RFQ processes and follow up with suppliers on technical and commercial requirements
- Participate in APQP activities and support supplier quality processes
- Develop reports, charts, and process documentation to support decision-making and continuous improvement
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field
- 5–7 years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, procurement engineering, or supplier-facing roles
- Experience working with suppliers in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D CAD models
- Basic understanding of APQP and PPAP processes
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in procurement engineering or supply chain engineering roles
- Exposure to hydraulics or electrical systems/components
- Experience with supplier relationship management and cross-functional collaboration
- Familiarity with tools such as Teamcenter or similar PLM systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
