About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Epic Ambulatory Manager to lead and strengthen our Ambulatory Applications team. This role requires deep expertise in Epic Ambulatory and strong leadership skills to establish processes, streamline workflows, and drive organizational standards across a large and complex health system. The ideal candidate will be highly proactive, able to hit the ground running, and skilled at building playbooks and operational frameworks that ensure efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
This is a high-visibility role supporting over 1,300 clinics across West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Ohio, with direct responsibility for a large Epic Ambulatory footprint that includes 25 hospitals and an active Community Connect program.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and operational management of the Epic Ambulatory team (30 staff 2 supervisors).
- Develop, implement, and standardize playbooks, processes, and workflows to support Epic Ambulatory initiatives.
- Create and execute a plan to address a significant ticket backlog, ensuring timely resolution and process improvements.
- Partner with clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders to ensure Epic Ambulatory systems meet business and patient care needs.
- Oversee system maintenance, enhancements, and bi-annual upgrades (next scheduled for November).
- Support integration efforts during ongoing mergers & acquisitions (M&A) activities.
- Drive operational excellence with a strong focus on organizational process, governance, and ITSM best practices.
- Ensure Community Connect Ambulatory programs are supported and standardized effectively.
Qualifications
- Deep expertise in Epic Ambulatory, with hands-on leadership experience.
- Proven success managing large Epic Ambulatory teams and complex workflows.
- Strong track record of process development, workflow optimization, and playbook creation.
- Experience working in large-scale healthcare environments (1,000 clinics or multiple hospitals).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ITSM frameworks and ServiceNow.
- Prior leadership in organizations with significant M&A activity.
- Strong background supporting Community Connect implementations.
