You'll work with high school students building legitimate companies with $1M growth potential. These are not academic exercises or mock ventures. Approximately 60-65% of your time will be dedicated to 1:1 coaching: pinpointing where each founder is blocked, isolating the most impactful next step, and ensuring accountability to a defined action plan. The remaining 35-40% is divided between academic monitoring and facilitating workshops designed to deliver practical skills, not passive content.

This is not a conventional teaching position. You are accountable for student outcomes across three dimensions: venture traction, academic performance, and personal development. You'll rely on dashboards, business metrics, and academic records to coach with clarity and precision, not guesswork. If a student's grades begin to decline, you step in before it escalates. If a venture hits a plateau, you surface the actual issue, not the easier conversation.

You begin by understanding each student's business, their capabilities, and their friction points. Over time, you become the voice they trust when challenged, because you've operated in high-stakes environments yourself. What You Will Be Doing

• Providing 1:1 coaching to student founders on strategy, execution, and scaling—approximately two-thirds of your weekly time
• Leveraging dashboards, business performance data, and academic records to assess progress and determine priority actions
• Tracking academic results and stepping in proactively when attention or time management begins to drift
• Designing and delivering workshops with tangible, applied-learning outcomes
• Facilitating stand-ups, retrospectives, and group sessions that enforce accountability to student-owned goals

• Teaching lectures or adhering to a fixed curriculum (you enable applied learning, not traditional classroom teaching)
• Offering general mentorship or inspiration without concrete action plans and follow-up
• Handling administrative tasks—scheduling, documentation, or enrollment processes
• Attending faculty meetings or dealing with institutional bureaucracy (your focus remains on student impact)
  
  

Youth Entrepreneurship Coach Key Responsibilities

Basic Requirements

• Available to work on-site at Alpha High School in Austin, TX (relocation assistance provided)
• Minimum 2 years of experience coaching or developing others (direct reports, peers, or clients), with a concrete example of a coaching engagement and its measurable results
• Professional track record of owning critical outcomes or metrics, including at least one example showing $500,000 in annual revenue impact
• At least 1 year of experience working with young people (students, early-career professionals, or youth program participants) on initiatives, learning objectives, or ventures
• Authorized to work legally in the United States
  
  

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Personal experience founding, co-founding, or operating a startup or early-stage venture
• Background as a Chief of Staff, program manager, or high-impact individual contributor with end-to-end outcome ownership
• Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) to enhance coaching preparation, analysis, or communication
• Experience in K-12 education, EdTech, or programs integrating academics with real-world execution (accelerators, project-based curricula, entrepreneurship initiatives)

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $75 USD/hour, which equates to $150,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
