What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Partnerships and Community Outreach, Alpha - $200,000/year USD position at Crossover?
- On-site (multiple cities - see Requirements section)
- W2 Employee
- $200K/yr
You will be the individual they reach out to when uncertainty arises, when intuition signals concern, or when they wish to share a milestone they know you will appreciate. You will understand each family deeply enough to recognize their needs before articulation—and you will possess the judgment and composure to address what they bring with discretion, warmth, and seamless execution. Over time, you will transcend your function within their child's school. You will become woven into how they navigate this defining period of family life.
Trust of this caliber is not engineered through systems. It emerges from presence—daily, sustained, and unhurried. You will be on hand during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up, at evening gatherings that carry significance, and in the unscheduled conversations that never appear on formal agendas. You will cultivate a community that families instinctively protect, where belonging feels natural and referrals occur because the experience consistently merits them.
Alpha operates outside traditional school frameworks. Students complete core academics in two hours daily using AI-driven applications, then dedicate remaining time to public speaking, critical thinking, and applied projects. No lectures. No redundant assignments. Top 1% outcomes across the nation. The families selecting this model are investing in something they value—but sustained belief requires care.
You will maintain that dialogue with every family, through every question, for the duration of their child's enrollment. If advocating for an unconventional approach to discerning skeptics feels burdensome, this position is not suitable. If it represents the most compelling conversation you could be engaged in, continue reading.
What You Will Be Doing
- Take full ownership of the relationship with every enrolled family—the continuous, evolving relationship that ensures parents feel recognized, not merely assisted
- Identify concerns before they surface as conversations, and address them with the discretion and interpersonal sophistication that preserves trust
- Maintain visible presence in family-facing moments: morning drop-off (7–9am), afternoon pick-up (2–4pm), evening parent gatherings, and select weekend engagements
- Develop a campus community with authentic depth—events, rituals, and connection points that foster a sense of belonging to something families will defend
- Develop parent advocates through organic cultivation, creating experiences of such consistent quality that referrals emerge as a natural consequence
- Sustain the continuous dialogue about Alpha's AI-enabled model with families managing screen time concerns, skeptical relatives, and periodic uncertainty—not only during enrollment, but across the entire campus experience
- Recognize when a family is not aligned with the community and manage that situation with the same care applied to all interactions—community protection is an element of service
- Create the infrastructure and cadences this position demands within an environment where standard operating procedures are still emerging
- Overseeing enrollment—that responsibility belongs to the Admissions Director; your engagement commences once families join and intensifies thereafter
- Operating from behind a desk—your visibility within the community defines the role
- Maintaining standard 9–5 schedules—early mornings, late afternoons, and evening commitments are inherent to the position, not outliers
- Relying on administrative infrastructure, established protocols, or fully staffed teams—you function with significant autonomy and construct what is necessary
- Approaching family relationships as transactional accounts—this role values authentic connection over procedural adherence
Serve as the central trusted relationship in every family's Alpha experience. Maintain their confidence during challenging moments, cultivate a community where belonging is earned, and establish the conditions under which satisfied families become active advocates.
Basic Requirements
- Currently reside within commuting distance of one of these campuses OR willing to relocate within 60 days (preference for candidates with existing community roots): Denver, CO; Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Tampa, FL; Boston, MA; Bethesda, MD; Charlotte, NC; Las Vegas, NV; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, TX; Dallas (Carrollton), TX; Fort Worth, TX; Houston (The Woodlands), TX; Park City, UT; Burlington, VT; Kirkland, WA; or Jackson Hole, WY
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- 5 years in a relationship-focused role serving high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth families—private school admissions, luxury hospitality, philanthropic advising, or any context where discretion, warmth, and social fluency were equally valued alongside competence
- Proven capacity to sustain relationships through challenging situations with sophisticated families and exit with trust reinforced
- Authentic presence and communication approach that earns confidence swiftly with affluent, high-expectation families—credible without appearing rehearsed
- Direct familiarity with independent, private, or alternative education—through professional experience or as a parent—that provides genuine credibility when families challenge the model
- Sincere conviction in AI-powered education and the capacity to sustain that belief authentically across years of parent relationships, extending beyond initial enrollment discussions
- Flexibility for non-standard hours: early mornings (7–9am), late afternoons (2–4pm), evening events 2–3x/month, and occasional weekend activities
Exceptional candidates will possess at least one of the following:
- Established connections within the local affluent community that would provide immediate, organic integration on campus
- Private school or independent school background with documented success in family retention and community cultivation—beyond enrollment metrics alone
- Experience managing high-stakes family dynamics where your judgment and discretion were the foundation of sustained trust
- Natural talent for designing experiences—events, moments, settings—where individuals feel they are part of something worth defending
- Prior startup or early-stage involvement where you constructed from the ground up and maintained composure amid rapid change
