What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Admissions and Enrollment, Alpha - $200,000/year USD position at Crossover?
- On-site (multiple locations available - refer to Requirements)
- W2 Employee
- $200K/yr
You will become the person they reach out to when questions arise, when instincts signal concern, or when they encounter a milestone they know you'll appreciate. You'll develop familiarity with each family deep enough to recognize needs before they surface—and you'll possess the judgment and composure to address whatever they present with tact, empathy, and seamless professionalism. Over time, your role will extend beyond being part of their child's education. You'll become woven into the way they navigate this stage of their family journey.
That depth of trust isn't achieved through procedure. It stems from presence—steady, day-to-day, and unhurried. You'll be present during morning arrivals and afternoon departures, at evening functions that hold meaning, and in private conversations that rarely appear on schedules. You'll cultivate a community families feel invested in protecting, where inclusion feels natural and recommendations arise because the quality of experience justifies them.
Alpha operates outside traditional school structures. Students complete their core curriculum in two hours daily through AI-powered platforms, then dedicate remaining time to public speaking, critical reasoning, and applied projects. No traditional lectures. No unnecessary assignments. Top 1% outcomes nationally. The families who enroll are investing in a vision they support—but conviction requires care.
You'll sustain that dialogue with each family, through every uncertainty, for the duration of their enrollment. If advocating for a non-traditional model to discerning skeptics feels burdensome, this position isn't suitable. If it represents the most engaging conversation you could facilitate, continue reading.
What You Will Be Doing
- Own the relationship with each enrolled family—the evolving, strengthening connection that ensures parents feel recognized, not simply accommodated
- Identify potential concerns before they escalate, and address them with the discretion and interpersonal skill that preserves confidence
- Maintain visible presence in family-facing moments: morning arrivals (7–9am), afternoon departures (2–4pm), evening parent gatherings, and select weekend programming
- Develop a campus culture with authentic character—programming, rituals, and interactions that foster a sense of belonging to something valuable
- Generate parent champions naturally, delivering experiences of such consistent quality that word-of-mouth referrals emerge organically
- Sustain the conversation about Alpha's AI-driven approach with families managing screen time concerns, skeptical relatives, and periodic doubts—not only at enrollment, but continuously throughout their campus tenure
- Recognize when a family fit isn't optimal and manage that determination with the same care you apply universally—community protection is integral to service
- Establish the structures and routines this position demands within an environment where standard operating procedures are still developing
- Overseeing enrollment—that falls under the Admissions Director's responsibilities; your engagement starts when families commit and grows thereafter
- Operating from a desk—your community presence defines the position
- Maintaining traditional 9–5 schedules—early mornings, late afternoons, and evening programming are routine, not occasional
- Relying on administrative infrastructure, established protocols, or fully staffed teams—you function with significant autonomy and create what's necessary
- Approaching family relationships as transactional accounts—this role rewards authentic engagement, not procedural adherence
Serve as the trusted relationship anchoring every family's Alpha experience. Maintain their confidence during challenging periods, foster a community where belonging feels meaningful, and establish conditions under which satisfied families naturally become active advocates.
Basic Requirements
- Currently reside within commuting distance of one of these campuses OR willing to relocate within 60 days (preference for candidates with existing community roots): Denver, CO; Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Tampa, FL; Boston, MA; Bethesda, MD; Charlotte, NC; Las Vegas, NV; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, TX; Dallas (Carrollton), TX; Fort Worth, TX; Houston (The Woodlands), TX; Park City, UT; Burlington, VT; Kirkland, WA; or Jackson Hole, WY
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- 5 years in a relationship-centered role serving high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth families—private school admissions, luxury hospitality, philanthropy, or comparable environments where discretion, empathy, and interpersonal sophistication were as critical as competence
- Proven capacity to sustain relationships through challenging moments with sophisticated families while preserving trust
- Authentic presence and communication approach that builds confidence swiftly with affluent, high-expectation families—genuine rather than performative
- Direct familiarity with independent, private, or non-traditional education—through professional experience or as a parent—that provides credible standing when families challenge the model
- Authentic commitment to AI-powered education and the capacity to sustain that conviction genuinely across years of parent relationships, not merely during initial enrollment
- Availability for variable hours: early mornings (7–9am), late afternoons (2–4pm), evening events 2–3x/month, and occasional weekend activities
Exceptional candidates will have at least one of the following:
- Established relationships within the local affluent community that would provide immediate, organic credibility on campus
- Private school or independent school background with demonstrated family retention and community strength—beyond enrollment metrics alone
- Experience managing high-stakes family dynamics where your judgment and discretion were the foundation of sustained trust
- A natural ability to design experiences—events, moments, environments—that make people feel part of something worth safeguarding
- Prior startup or early-stage experience where you built from the ground up and maintained composure amid rapid change
