What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Admissions and Enrollment, Alpha - $200,000/year USD position at Crossover?
- On-site (multi-city)
- W2
- $200K/yr
You will become the person they reach out to in moments of uncertainty, when something doesn't feel quite right, or when they want to share a milestone they know you'll appreciate. You'll understand each family deeply enough to recognize their needs before they articulate them—and you'll possess the judgment and composure to address whatever they bring to you with care, warmth, and seamless professionalism. Over time, you won't simply be affiliated with their child's school. You'll become woven into the experience of this chapter in their family's journey.
That level of trust doesn't emerge from a system. It develops through presence—consistent, daily, and unhurried. You'll be present at morning arrivals and afternoon departures, at the evening gatherings that carry weight, and in the one-on-one exchanges that never appear on a schedule. You'll cultivate a community that families feel invested in protecting, where membership feels natural and referrals occur because the quality of the experience justifies them.
Alpha operates outside traditional school frameworks. Students complete their core academics in two hours daily using AI-powered applications, then dedicate the remainder of their time to public speaking, critical thinking, and hands-on projects. No lectures. No unnecessary assignments. Top 1% outcomes nationally. The families who select this model are investing in something they value deeply—but conviction requires ongoing support.
You'll maintain that dialogue with every family, through every question, for the duration of their child's enrollment. If the prospect of advocating for an unconventional approach to discerning skeptics feels draining, this position isn't suitable. If it feels like the most compelling work you could undertake, continue reading.
What You Will Be Doing
- Take ownership of the relationship with every enrolled family—the evolving, deepening connection that ensures parents feel understood, not merely accommodated
- Identify potential concerns before they surface as conversations, and address them with the care and interpersonal skill that preserves trust
- Maintain visible presence in key family touchpoints: morning arrival (7–9am), afternoon departure (2–4pm), evening parent gatherings, and select weekend programming
- Develop a campus community with authentic depth—events, rituals, and interactions that give families a sense of belonging to something they value protecting
- Foster parent advocates naturally, delivering experiences of such consistent quality that referrals emerge as the organic result
- Sustain the dialogue about Alpha's AI-driven approach with families managing concerns about screen exposure, skeptical relatives, and periodic uncertainty—not only at enrollment, but continuously throughout their campus experience
- Recognize when a family is not aligned with the community and manage that reality with the same care you apply to all interactions—safeguarding the community is integral to serving it
- Create the frameworks and rhythms this position demands in a setting where the operational blueprint is still taking shape
- Overseeing enrollment processes—that responsibility belongs to the Admissions Director; your focus starts when families enroll and intensifies from that point forward
- Operating primarily from an office—your visibility within the community defines the role
- Adhering to standard 9–5 schedules—early mornings, late afternoons, and evening programming are core aspects of the position, not occasional requirements
- Relying on administrative infrastructure, established workflows, or a complete team—you function with significant independence and develop what the role needs
- Approaching family relationships as transactional accounts—this role values authentic engagement over procedural adherence
Serve as the central trusted relationship in every family's Alpha experience. Maintain their confidence during challenging moments, cultivate a community where belonging is meaningful, and establish the environment in which satisfied families naturally become enthusiastic advocates.
Basic Requirements
- Currently live within commuting range of one of these campus locations OR prepared to relocate within 60 days (preference given to candidates with established community ties): Scottsdale, AZ; Denver, CO; Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Boston, MA; Bethesda, MD; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Fort Worth, TX; Houston, TX; Park City, UT; Chantilly, VA; or Kirkland, WA
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship
- 5 years in a client-facing role working with high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth families—private school admissions, luxury hospitality, philanthropic advising, or any setting where discretion, warmth, and interpersonal sophistication were equally important as technical competence
- Proven capacity to sustain relationships through challenging circumstances with sophisticated families while maintaining trust
- Authentic presence and communication approach that builds confidence rapidly with affluent, high-expectation families—genuine rather than rehearsed
- Direct familiarity with independent, private, or non-traditional education—either professionally or as a parent—that provides credible grounding when families express doubts about the model
- Sincere commitment to AI-powered education and the capacity to carry that belief authentically across years of parent engagement, not solely during initial enrollment
- Flexibility for non-standard hours: early mornings (7–9am), late afternoons (2–4pm), evening programming 2–3x/month, and occasional weekend commitments
Outstanding candidates will possess at least one of the following:
- Established connections within the local affluent community that would provide you with immediate, organic credibility on campus
- Background in private or independent school settings with demonstrated success in family retention and community building—beyond enrollment metrics alone
- Track record managing high-stakes family dynamics where your discretion and judgment were the foundation of sustained trust
- Natural ability to design experiences—gatherings, moments, settings—where people feel they are part of something meaningful and worth protecting
- Prior startup or early-stage organizational experience where you created infrastructure from scratch and maintained composure through rapid change
