Our Banking client is seeking a UX/Product Designer to join their team for the next 6 months, 40 hours/week.
This role is hybrid onsite 3 days a week in Iselin, NJ.
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Product Designer to join a growing Product organization focused on building and enhancing enterprise applications used by a large employee population. This role partners closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, and Engineering teams to transform business requirements and user stories into intuitive, scalable, and visually compelling user experiences. The ideal candidate is an expert in Figma, excels in end-to-end product design execution, and can effectively communicate product concepts through engaging visual storytelling and executive-ready presentations. This position operates within a fast-paced Agile environment and offers the opportunity to influence products with broad organizational impact.
Top Must Have Skills
- 5 years of experience in Product Design, UX Design, UI Design, or a related field
- Advanced proficiency in Figma, including design, prototyping, and component-based workflows
- Strong experience working directly with Product Managers and Product Owners in Agile environments
- Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements and user stories into UX/UI solutions
- Expertise creating user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, high-fidelity mockups, and UI workflows
- Experience designing new products or major enhancements to existing products
- Strong PowerPoint and visual storytelling skills, including executive-facing presentations
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Engineering
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design work
Additional Qualifications
- Experience leveraging Figma AI or other AI-assisted design tools to improve productivity and accelerate design workflows
- Experience designing enterprise-scale applications and products with large user populations
- Familiarity with UX research methodologies, usability testing, and user validation techniques
- Experience contributing to design systems, reusable components, and UI standards
- Understanding of accessibility principles and best practices
- Experience collaborating closely with software engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle
- Ability to balance business objectives, technical requirements, and user experience considerations
- Demonstrated success presenting design concepts and design rationale to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Responsibilities
Product Design and User Experience
- Partner with Product Managers and Product Owners to understand business objectives, requirements, and user stories
- Translate product requirements into intuitive user experiences, workflows, and interface designs
- Design user-centered solutions that balance business goals, technical constraints, and end-user needs
- Create user flows, wireframes, UI mockups, and interactive prototypes that effectively communicate design intent
- Evaluate and improve existing user experiences by identifying usability challenges and recommending solutions
- Deliver high-quality UX/UI designs that support product goals and improve user satisfaction
- Advocate for the end user while aligning solutions with organizational objectives
Figma Design and Prototyping
- Serve as a subject matter expert in Figma for UX and UI design
- Design and prototype screens, workflows, and user experiences using Figma
- Utilize Figma AI and AI-assisted design capabilities to accelerate design creation, iteration, and refinement
- Develop production-ready designs for seamless handoff to engineering teams
- Maintain design consistency through reusable components, design systems, and established standards
Visual Storytelling and Presentation Design
- Develop polished PowerPoint presentations to communicate product concepts and recommendations
- Convert design concepts and Figma deliverables into presentation-ready materials
- Create compelling visual narratives that communicate user journeys, business challenges, solutions, and product vision
- Present design rationale in a clear and engaging manner for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Dedicate approximately 20% of time to presentation development and visual storytelling activities
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, UX Designers, Developers, and key stakeholders
- Participate in Agile planning sessions, sprint ceremonies, design reviews, and stakeholder meetings
- Facilitate discussions around UX solutions and design recommendations
- Present design concepts, gather feedback, and incorporate stakeholder input
- Partner with engineering teams to ensure accurate implementation of design solutions
User Research and Validation
- Conduct lightweight UX research to better understand user needs and pain points
- Review stakeholder and user feedback to inform design improvements
- Support usability validation and design reviews throughout the product lifecycle
- Apply user insights, business feedback, and data-driven recommendations to design decisions
- Ensure accessibility standards and design best practices are incorporated into all solutions
