What You'll Do
- Independently manage family law matters from initial filing through resolution
- Develop and execute legal strategies based on case facts, applicable law, and client objectives
- Conduct legal research and apply relevant case law to active matters
- Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, settlement negotiations, and other proceedings
- Draft pleadings, motions, complaints, answers, and other legal documents
- Prepare and manage comprehensive discovery requests and responses
- Monitor case deadlines and efficiently manage multiple active matters
- Navigate Wake County court procedures and filing requirements
- Prepare and submit documents through North Carolina's eFiling system
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout their cases
- Provide clear, timely, and transparent communication regarding case status and strategy
- Advocate for clients while maintaining professionalism during complex and sensitive family law matters
- 3 years of family law practice experience
- Strong family law litigation background
- Experience independently managing cases through multiple stages of litigation
- Experience handling complex discovery matters
- Strong legal research, writing, and drafting skills
- Courtroom, mediation, and negotiation experience
- Ability to independently develop and execute case strategies
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High emotional intelligence and ability to effectively communicate with clients during sensitive situations
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high standard of client service
- Family law experience within Wake County
- Familiarity with Wake County court procedures
- Experience with North Carolina's eFiling system
- Extensive family law discovery and motion practice experience
- Proven ability to independently manage a family law caseload
- Strong Earning Potential: Approximately $125,000 in target annual earnings based on commission, billable hours, and experience
- Case Ownership: Independently manage family law matters from initial filing through resolution
- Litigation Experience: Handle court hearings, discovery, mediations, negotiations, and motion practice
- Direct Client Relationships: Serve as the primary attorney and trusted advocate for your clients
