The Global Payroll Manager will partner closely with HR, Finance, regional payroll teams, and third-party providers to improve processes, strengthen controls, support international growth, and maintain compliance across multiple countries.
What You'll Do
- Lead end-to-end global payroll operations across multiple countries
- Process bi-monthly payroll for employees in the United States and Canada
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with applicable requirements
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex payroll issues and discrepancies
- Partner with regional payroll teams and third-party providers to standardize global payroll processes
- Maintain payroll calendars, funding schedules, processing deadlines, and critical payroll dates
- Ensure compliance with U.S., Canadian, and international payroll tax regulations, labor laws, and statutory reporting requirements
- Monitor regulatory changes and implement necessary payroll process updates
- Support internal and external payroll audits by preparing reports and required documentation
- Partner with HR, Talent Acquisition, and People Operations to ensure payroll accuracy for new hires, promotions, compensation changes, terminations, and leaves
- Provide payroll policy guidance and employee support in partnership with HR leadership
- Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and improve payroll processes
- Develop and maintain payroll SOPs, documentation, internal controls, and standardized procedures
- Prepare payroll reports and analyze payroll metrics
- Reconcile payroll data and support general ledger activities
- Support payroll integration efforts related to acquisitions and organizational growth
- Assist with international expansion and new-country payroll implementations
- 8 years of progressive payroll experience
- 4 years of experience supporting global or multi-country payroll operations
- Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll compliance and tax regulations
- Knowledge of Canadian payroll requirements and regulations
- Understanding of international payroll compliance, taxation, and statutory requirements
- Hands-on experience with ADP GlobalView, ADP Workforce Now, or similar ADP platforms
- Experience with Ceridian Dayforce
- Experience managing payroll calendars, funding schedules, reconciliations, and reporting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex payroll discrepancies
- Ability to collaborate effectively across HR, Finance, People Operations, regional teams, and external providers
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to payroll accuracy and compliance
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification
- Experience with Workday, BambooHR, or similar HRIS platforms
- Experience supporting acquisitions and payroll integrations
- Experience supporting global expansion and new-country payroll implementations
- Knowledge of equity compensation payroll taxation
- Experience developing payroll SOPs, internal controls, and process improvements
- Background managing relationships with international payroll providers
