Job Summary: Provides direct and indirect resident care under the direct supervision and control of the licensed nurse. Assists residents with activities of daily living, provides for personal care and comfort. Assists in maintaining a clean, safe resident environment and performs job responsibilities in a safe manner. Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Performs personal care for the comfort and well-being of the resident. Provides activities and restorative care as directed.
- Assists with meal delivery during mealtime. Distributes ice, water, and nourishments as appropriate. May be asked to assist in meal delivery, such as plating foods, serving residents during mealtimes, cleaning the kitchen, resident spaces, and placing dishes in the dishwasher as directed.
- Obtaining vital signs, including weights. Cleans equipment and stores it in the appropriate place.
- Assists with putting away laundry.
- Notifies the Charge Nurse of resident and employee issues.
- Provides resident-centered care.
- Reports and documents information related to assigned duties in a timely, thorough and accurate manner. Assumes accountability for accuracy of documentation.
- Complies with current regulatory policies and standards, including Covenant Woods employee policies.
- Responds in a calm, courteous, and cooperative manner to residents, staff, and public.
- Completes yearly mandatory in-services. Attends other scheduled in-services and staff meetings.
- Maintains CPR & First Aid certification.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Follows Covenant Woods safety guidelines and practices at all times.
Education & Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Must communicate in English.
One year of PCA experience in an Assisted Living facility.
Job Specifications:
Must be a current Personal Care Aide, completed training by a state-approved company.
Current basic CPR/AED and First Aid certification required.
Must be able to work Full-time or Part-time 3-11 or 11-7 shifts.
