Project Manager Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate multiple solar projects, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, utilities, and government agencies to facilitate project progress and resolve issues promptly.
- Develop project plans, including scope, timeline, and financial forecasts; monitor progress and make adjustments as necessary.
- Oversee procurement, negotiations, and management of subcontractors and vendors for efficient project execution.
- Ensure compliance with permits, zoning, and interconnection requirements through collaboration with local authorities and utilities.
- Track project performance, field productivity, and safety metrics, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Lead safety initiatives on-site, conducting audits and ensuring adherence to OSHA and company safety protocols.
- Prepare detailed project documentation, including change orders, claims, and progress reports.
- Address project risks and proactively develop solutions to mitigate delays or budget overruns.
- Foster a positive team environment and maintain professional relationships with all project stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of project management experience, preferably in construction or renewable energy sectors.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a focus on safety, budget, and quality standards.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction processes, and solar energy technologies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain a CDL is a plus.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% for site visits, client meetings, and project oversight.
- Experience with utility interconnection processes and permitting.
- Industry certifications such as OSHA 30, Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), or similar.
- Knowledge of local zoning and regulatory processes for solar projects.
- Advanced training or ongoing education in renewable energy or project management.
