Job Title: Accountant
Location: Onsite at Irving, TX
Duration: 6 Months Contract - Can Extend
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent (proof of education required at submission)
- 2 years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Preferred Qualifications
- General Ledger (GL) accounting experience
- Healthcare accounting experience
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post month-end journal entries
- Perform general ledger reconciliations
- Ensure journal entries are accurate and properly documented
- Understand the accounting impact of transactions on the financial statements
- Verify appropriate GL account classifications
- Maintain supporting documentation for all entries
- Review source data for accuracy and completeness
Work within assigned accounting functions, which may include:
- Corporate Accounting
- Fixed Assets
- Payroll
- Cash Accounting
- Lease Accounting
- Inventory
- Intercompany
- Health Plan
- Physician Group
- Grant Accounting
- Investments
- Contract Labor
- Joint Ventures
- Technical Accounting
- And other specialty accounting functions
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 2–5 years of staff accountant or GL accountant experience
- Experience with month-end close
- Journal entries and account reconciliations
- Strong knowledge of debits/credits and financial statements
- ERP experience (Oracle, Workday, PeopleSoft, Lawson, SAP, etc.)
- Advanced Excel skills are a plus
- Healthcare industry experience is highly preferred
