What are the responsibilities and job description for the CES Event Operations Intern position at Consumer Technology Association?

(Full-time/Long-term Internship)
Hours Per Week: Approximately 35 hours per week (standard business hours are 9:00 AM–5:00 PM). Schedules are flexible to accommodate current student class commitments.
Approximate Duration: June/July 2026 through early/mid-2027. Internships may last up to 11 months from the start date.
Hybrid Work Schedule: Interns are expected to work onsite Monday through Wednesday, with the option to work remotely on Thursday and Friday.
Basic Function of the Position:
This position is hands-on learning experience providing support to the CES Operations department as they manage preshow and on-site logistics planning for CES 2027.
Critical Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the CES Operations team and assist with projects including, but not limited to:
- Manage exhibitor calls and emails pertaining to the CES Exhibitor Manual and other preshow planning tools.
- Assist Operations team with the management of the CESOps inbox for exhibitor customer service
- Assist Operations team in preparing and filing contracts, invoices and check requests.
- Maintain website content on CES.tech and show planning pages.
- Assist with contracting and onboarding of temporary staff including floor managers and office managers.
- Assist with processing graphics and work orders.
- Plan catering requirements.
- Travel to Las Vegas in January to:
- Provide exhibitor support.
- Execute staff work orders.
- Manage staff communication schedule and equipment.
- Coordinate return staff shipment to Arlington.
- Other related projects and duties as assigned.
Work Experience:
- Customer service and/or event management experience is preferred, but not required.
- Some prior office experience preferred.
Education and Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of Event Management or Marketing or commensurate experience preferred.
Additional Information:
- Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task
- Must be comfortable with working in a team-oriented environment
- Customer service and/or event management experience is preferred.
- Candidate should have strong communication skills.
- Travel to CES 2027 is required.
