What are the responsibilities and job description for the CTA Communications Intern position at Consumer Technology Association?
(Full-time/Long-term Internship)
Hours Per Week: Approximately 35 hours per week (standard business hours are 9:00 AM–5:00 PM). Schedules are flexible to accommodate current student class commitments.
Approximate Duration: May 2026 through early/mid-2027. Internships may last up to 11 months from the start date.
Hybrid Work Schedule: Interns are expected to work onsite Monday through Wednesday, with the option to work remotely on Thursday and Friday.
Basic Function of the Position:
The Consumer Technology Association has an internship opening in the Marketing and Communications department to manage projects and support the day-to-day activities of the CTA Communications team.
Critical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the CTA policy, executive, industry and, as needed at key times, CES Communications teams.
- Develop familiarity with industry trends and research.
- Support key CES 2026 projects and programs, including monitoring the Media inboxes, CES Media Days and Tech Trends to Watch plus assisting with logistics, coordinating, and executing duties as needed.
- Draft press releases, blog posts, briefing documents, media pitches, advisories.
- Work internally and with agencies to develop social media content and build CTA awareness with new audiences.
- Assist with media monitoring and reporting, coordinating with the data team and updating media lists and underlying processes to improve efficiency and data accuracy.
- Support communications staff with research and administrative tasks as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Experience:
- Self-starter with a global perspective who can work independently, complete projects with little supervision, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Work and/or internship experience in an office environment; marketing/communications/PR work preferred.
Education and Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate experience – Communications, Journalism or International Business/Marketing preferred.
- Must possess strong organizational skills and have attention for detail.
- Must demonstrate ability to efficiently handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have excellent communication skills, be customer/team oriented and have ability to work with all staff levels.
- Must have a positive attitude and exceptional customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
Additional Information:
- Travel to CES 2027 is required.
