Job Title: Controller
Location: Chicago, IL (4 days onsite)
Type: Full-Time, Permanent/Direct Hire
Pay Range: $160,000 - $170,000 base salary plus 20% bonus

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee accounting teams
- Review, approve, and provide feedback on staff - journal entries, reconciliations, financial statements, and supporting schedules.
- Coach, train, and mentor team members at all levels
- Oversee full-cycle accounting
- Review and approve monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes and reporting
- Ensure that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly
- Review property-level payables and receivables
- Oversee the review and maintenance of property fixed asset records
- Oversees all corporate financial functions including accounting, budgeting, credit, risk, tax, and treasury
- Reviews and approves corporate required reports
- Leads the budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning, and business strategic analysis of the firm
- Reviews quarterly valuation summaries
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting required
- CPA required
- Minimum of 7 accounting experience (at least 1 year as a controller)
- Previous experience with institutional real estate accounting required
- Big 4 or mid-tier audit experience preferred
