About Us
We are a well-established landscape and site construction company specializing in public and private infrastructure, heavy equipment operation, and fleet management. We’re looking for an experienced and dependable Mechanic to join our team and keep our fleet and equipment running smoothly.
Position Overview
The Mechanic will maintain and repair a variety of vehicles and equipment used in landscape and site construction operations. This includes everything from heavy-duty diesel trucks and loaders to small engines and hand tools. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who can work independently, manage their own workload, and take ownership of the yard and maintenance facility.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel trucks, pickup trucks, and construction equipment (loaders, mini-excavators, chippers, stump grinders, etc.)
- Maintain and service small equipment (chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, compactors, etc.)
- Perform preventive maintenance and safety checks on all fleet vehicles and tools
- Maintain inventory of parts, fluids, and equipment, ensuring supplies are tracked and replenished
- Source, order, and track parts and materials as needed
- Maintain organized shop and yard, ensuring equipment is stored, labeled, and ready for use
- Keep accurate maintenance logs and report major issues to management
- Drive company vehicles to job sites for on-site repairs or equipment pickups
- Work collaboratively with field and operations teams to minimize downtime
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a mechanic (diesel, heavy equipment, or fleet maintenance preferred)
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize repairs efficiently
- Valid driver’s license (CDL a strong plus)
- Ability to operate construction equipment safely when moving or testing repairs
- Must be reliable, organized, and take pride in a clean, efficient workspace
Preferred Skills
- Experience with hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems
- Welding or fabrication experience
- Familiarity with landscaping and construction equipment brands (Bobcat, Toro, CAT, Vermeer, etc.)
- OSHA or safety certification a plus
- Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills for inventory and parts management

Pay: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour
