About the Role
The Territory Sales Associate is responsible for owning and growing a defined geographic territory. This is a high-impact, leadership-track sales role designed for a driven sales professional who wants to build a market, own the full sales cycle, and grow into future leadership opportunities.
You’ll develop relationships with municipalities, government agencies, and developers; build and manage your pipeline; and drive opportunities from initial outreach through close. You’ll work closely with internal teams to deliver successful projects and will have the opportunity to take on greater leadership responsibility as you demonstrate strong performance and results.
What You’ll Do
- Own Your Territory: Build and grow a pipeline of municipal, county, government, and developer opportunities within your assigned geography.
- Generate New Business: Prospect through cold calls, email, networking events, referrals, and other creative approaches to open new opportunities.
- Build Relationships: Meet with city decision-makers, public works leaders, developers, and other key stakeholders to understand their needs and present solutions.
- Own the Sales Cycle: Manage opportunities from initial discovery through proposal, bid, negotiation, and close.
- Navigate the Public Sector: Develop expertise in municipal procurement, grants, funding, and other processes unique to your territory.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with Marketing, Application Design, and Operations to develop accurate proposals and deliver successful projects.
- Manage Your Pipeline: Maintain accurate Salesforce data, forecasting, activity tracking, and reporting.
- Become a Trusted Advisor: Build credibility with customers and develop a strong understanding of municipal and infrastructure needs.
- Lead Through Results: Demonstrate the leadership, initiative, and sales performance needed to take on greater responsibility and future team-management opportunities.
What You Bring
- 3 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in municipal, infrastructure, construction, or public-sector sales.
- A hunter mentality with a proven ability to prospect, open doors, develop relationships, and close business.
- Experience or strong aptitude for working with government customers, public works organizations, procurement processes, or infrastructure projects.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build relationships with decision-makers.
- Strong organization and self-management skills, with the ability to manage a large pipeline and multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM and a commitment to maintaining accurate pipeline data.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout your assigned territory to meet with customers and develop new business.
- A desire to grow into leadership and take on increasing responsibility as you succeed.
