Job Summary
Petland is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our animal care team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the daily care and handling of our canine guests, ensuring their health, safety, and happiness. This is a hands-on role that requires a passion for animal welfare, excellent customer service skills, and a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care to dogs, including feeding, walking, and administering medication as needed.
-Upkeep and groom puppies
- Maintain a clean and safe kennel environment, including cleaning and disinfecting of areas, equipment, and cages.
- Assist with dog training and behavioral rehabilitation, including administering training sessions and providing feedback to handlers.
- Handle dogs with care, using proper restraint techniques and handling equipment.
- Monitor and report any health issues or concerns to the veterinary staff.
- Provide excellent customer service to pet owners, answering questions and addressing concerns in a professional and friendly manner.
- Clean and maintain kennel equipment and supplies.
- Assist with pet sitting and dog walking services.
- Work effectively as part of a team to ensure the smooth operation of the kennel.
Requirements
- Experience in animal care, preferably in a kennel or veterinary setting.

- Ability to lift and move equipment and supplies.
- Experience with pet care and animal restraint.
- Familiarity with veterinary procedures and protocols.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in animal science, biology, or related field preferred.
- Certification as a veterinary technician or kennel assistant is desirable.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
