Reporting Manager/s: Head of Finance and Operations
Job Description
- Support the Head of Finance and the Finance team with FP&A processes, financial analysis, reporting, and special projects
- Help support the ongoing budgeting work for an additional Finance hire
- Support the process of outsourcing property accounting to a third-party provider
- Review accounts receivable and tenant write-offs, and help develop better policies / procedures to minimize tenant write-offs going forward
- Support property accounting cleanup efforts and help strengthen related procedures going forward
- Provide analysis around financial performance, operating expenses, cost trends, and key business drivers
- Help create recurring and ad hoc reporting packages, financial decks, and decision-ready analysis for senior leadership
- Partner with Accounting, Enterprise Operations, Technology, real estate operations, and external / affiliate partners as needed
- Strengthen internal process documentation, corporate finance policies, and document management practices
- Use Excel, reporting tools, and potentially AI tools to improve analysis, documentation, efficiency, and recurring workflows
- Bring structure, urgency, and project management discipline to multiple Finance initiatives running in parallel
Qualifications
- Manager or Director level Finance consultant who is willing to roll up their sleeves
- Mix of finance and accounting experience; this is not a pure FP&A role
- Commercial real estate experience required; pure residential real estate candidates will not work
- Strong FP&A foundation, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, reporting, and financial storytelling
- Strong accounting orientation, with the ability to understand property accounting, receivables, and related cleanup work
- Advanced Excel / spreadsheet skills
- Ability to support multiple short-term but important special projects
- Independent, organized, and able to bring structure to ambiguous workstreams
- Ability to be onsite in West LA at least 3 days per week; 4 days preferred
- AI savvy, including experience using Claude, Copilot, or similar tools to improve analysis, reporting, documentation, and workflow efficiency
- Office and/or retail real estate experience
- Experience supporting property accounting outsourcing or shared services transitions
- Experience working with third-party real estate accounting platforms or large institutional real estate portfolio companies
- Experience with tenant receivables, AR cleanup, write-offs, and policy/process improvement
- Ability to create executive-ready reporting materials, dashboards, and financial decks
- Prior experience helping a Finance leader build scalable processes, policies, and reporting discipline
Systems: Mainstream ERP experience; strong Excel, ideally AI Savvy using including comfort using tools such as Claude, CoPilot, or similar AI-enabled productivity / analysis
Salary : $80 - $95
