What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Controller position at Conexus?
We are partnering with a rapidly-growing services company based in the San Fernando Valley, in hiring a Corporate Controller.
This company has doubled in revenue each year over the past 3 years and is in a very healthy and profitable state.
The ideal candidate for this role is someone who is hands-on, process-oriented, and technical. There is also a defined growth path into an executive financial leadership seat over the next 18-24 months.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and revenue recognition.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to improve profitability, cash flow, and operational efficiency.
- Prepare management reports, dashboards, and key performance metrics.
- Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and lead the annual financial statement audit process.
- Coordinate audit schedules, documentation requests, and responses to audit inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements.
- Maintain strong internal controls and support ongoing compliance initiatives.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors and other financial service providers.
- Act as the accounting lead and subject matter expert for Sage ERP.
- Ensure accurate system configuration, financial reporting, and process optimization within Sage.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, automation, and reporting capabilities.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to support system enhancements and implementations.
Qualifications:
- CPA designation strongly preferred.
- Sage ERP experience strongly preferred
- Experience with multi-entity or multi-location organizations.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Background supporting organizational growth and process improvement initiatives.
