Summary:
A growing restaurant chain seeks a Corporate Controller to join our dynamic team. The Corporate Controller plays a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations and accounting functions of the organization. Reporting directly to CEO / President of the organization, the Corporate Controller is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial reporting, as well as implementing and maintaining effective internal controls. This position requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in accounting principles, and effective cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities:
· Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures that safeguard assets and ensure GAAP and regulatory compliance.
· Manage company-wide cash flow and liquidity to support business needs and growth initiatives.
· Oversee all cash‑handling procedures and deposits.
· Manage daily, monthly, and annual accounting processes for a high‑volume foodservice operation.
· Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts.
· Prepare and interpret P&L statements, monthly financial packages, and performance analyses.
· Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial projections; identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
· Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies or reconciliation issues.
· Maintain cost‑control processes and financial procedures across all branches.
· Administer payroll and support HR tasks.
· Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax requirements, including corporate income, sales, and use taxes
· Collaborate with the General Manager on financial strategy and operations.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification a plus but not required.
· Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
· Thorough knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting standards, budgeting, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
· Experience in restaurant or service industry and related industry-specific GAAP accounting standards.
· Proficiency in accounting software; experience with Restaurants 365 (R365) platform and QuickBooks preferred.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
· Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve departmental goals.
· Bi-Lingual; Korean/English
