What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Manager, Technical Accounting position at Conexus?
We are representing our client, an exciting, fast-growing company in the tech space, in hiring a Senior Manager, Technical Accounting.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving the company’s global close and consolidation process while leading technical accounting under US GAAP. This position plays a critical role in supporting M&A activity, purchase price accounting, complex equity and debt structures, and the preparation of audited financial statements.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership in the evaluation, interpretation, and application of U.S. GAAP guidance related to complex accounting matters, including business combinations, consolidations, foreign currency matters, equity compensation, leases, and other significant transactions.
- Direct accounting activities associated with acquisitions, mergers, and strategic investments, including purchase accounting, valuation support, opening balance sheet reviews, and financial integration efforts.
- Prepare and maintain technical accounting position papers and analyses for non-routine transactions, financing arrangements, capital structure activities, and emerging accounting issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including Legal, Financial Planning & Analysis, Tax, and Corporate Development, to assess transaction structures and related accounting impacts.
- Support acquisition integration initiatives by establishing consistent accounting policies, reporting frameworks, and chart of account structures across newly acquired entities.
- Prepare executive-level financial reporting packages and presentations for senior management, investors, lenders, and private equity sponsors.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation supporting significant accounting conclusions, estimates, and key financial reporting judgments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA required or strongly preferred
- 7 years of experience in technical accounting and financial reporting
- Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred
- Experience in private equity-backed or high-growth environments preferred
- Deep knowledge of US GAAP, particularly ASC 805 (Business Combinations), ASC 810 (Consolidations), ASC 830 (Foreign Currency), and equity and debt accounting
