CORPORATE CONTROLLER

POSITION SUMMARY
Our client, a growing Irvine-based manufacturing company, is seeking a hands-on Corporate Controller to lead all accounting operations and serve as a key strategic partner to the CFO and executive team. This role is responsible for the integrity of the company's financial statements, oversight of the monthly close, standard cost accounting, inventory controls, and compliance with US GAAP. The ideal candidate combines deep technical accounting expertise with a practical, shop-floor understanding of manufacturing operations and ERP-driven cost environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Reporting & Close
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses; provide clear, executive-ready commentary on financial results.
- Manage the preparation of internal financial reporting packages, KPI dashboards, and board-level materials in partnership with the CFO.
Treasury, AP/AR & Operations
- Oversee cash management, banking relationships, short-term cash forecasting, and borrowing base reporting if applicable to credit facility.
- Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit and collections, and payroll accounting functions.
- Partner with FP&A on the annual budget, rolling forecasts, and capital planning.
Leadership & Systems
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team; set clear expectations and provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
- Lead or support ERP initiatives, system enhancements, and process automation to improve the speed, accuracy, and scalability of the accounting function.
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and HR to drive data-informed business decisions.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role within a manufacturing environment.
- Deep working knowledge of standard cost accounting, inventory accounting, and manufacturing variance analysis.
- Demonstrated success managing a full-cycle close and leading an external audit.
- Hands-on experience with a tier-1 or tier-2 manufacturing ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Epicor, Plex, or Syspro).
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Hyperion/OneStream a plus.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and scale an accounting team.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience at a private equity-backed or PE-considering business, including lender reporting and covenant compliance.
- Background blending public accounting (Big 4 or large regional) with industry experience in manufacturing, distribution, or consumer products.
- Exposure to multi-entity consolidations, international operations, or transfer pricing.
- Prior involvement in ERP implementation or major system conversion.

Salary : $180,000 - $230,000
