VP Finance / Strategic Finance Leader
We are partnering with a growing, privately held operating company seeking a senior finance leader to help build out the finance function during its next phase of growth.
This is a newly elevated role with direct access to executive leadership and meaningful exposure to investors, lenders, and the board. The right person will bring strong strategic finance capability, transaction experience, and the ability to operate at both a hands-on and executive level.

What You’ll Own
- Lead strategic finance, planning, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Build and refine financial models to support business decisions and capital allocation
- Partner with executive leadership on growth strategy, budgeting, reporting, and performance management
- Support financing initiatives, lender relationships, and broader capital markets work
- Prepare materials for leadership, investors, lenders, and the board
- Oversee accounting, reporting, audit, tax, cash management, and internal controls through an existing team
- Help strengthen finance processes, systems, reporting cadence, and operating discipline
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams and external advisors on key business initiatives
Ideal Background
- Transaction-oriented finance experience
- Capital markets, credit, debt financing, or banking relationship exposure
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills
- Experience in a private equity-backed, founder-led, investor-backed, or other high-growth environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior executives, investors, lenders, and board members
- Strong business judgment, attention to detail, and executive presence
- Comfortable in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment where the finance function is still being built
Nice to Have
- Investment banking, M&A, capital markets, corporate finance, strategic finance, or project-based finance background
- Experience in a business with meaningful capital investment, multi-unit operations, real assets, construction, development, logistics, services, or other operational complexity
- Experience upgrading finance processes, tools, reporting, or systems
- CPA, MBA, or Big 4 background helpful but not required
Salary : $225,000 - $250,000
