- Prepare and cook meals according to menus, standardized recipes, and dietary restrictions
- Ensure food is cooked to proper temperatures and served on time
- Assist with food prep tasks such as chopping, portioning, and assembling meals
- Follow therapeutic diets (e.g., low sodium, diabetic, pureed diets)
- Serve meals to residents/patients, ensuring correct trays and portions
- Deliver trays and assist with mealtime setup as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized serving area
- Follow all food safety regulations (FDA, state health department, or facility policies)
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, equipment, and dining areas
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Properly store food and supplies to prevent contamination
- Assist with stocking supplies and rotating food inventory
- Report shortages or equipment issues to supervisors
- Help receive and unload deliveries
- Interact respectfully with residents, patients, and team members
- Accommodate special dietary needs and preferences when possible
- Promote a positive dining experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous experience in food service or healthcare dietary setting preferred
- Ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds
- Work in hot or cold kitchen environments
- Full-Time: Typically 30–40 hours/week, may include weekends and holidays
- Part-Time: Flexible hours, evenings/weekends as needed
