The Division of Consumer Protection was created within the Department of Insurance in 1998 to offer assistance to consumers with insurance-related issues. The division is responsible for handling consumer complaints against health, life, auto, homeowners and commercial insurance. The division also takes complaints regarding the actions of an agent or agency.
We are looking for a Procedures Development Specialist II to join our team of highly skilled professionals. As a Procedures Development Specialist II, you will provide expert assistance in the analysis of federal and state laws and regulations to determine the impact on agency programs.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of professional experience in public or business administration, political science, statistics, policy analysis, economics, or a related field.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Professional experience in public or business administration, political science, statistics, policy analysis, economics, or a related field will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

We are looking for a Procedures Development Specialist II to join our team of highly skilled professionals. As a Procedures Development Specialist II, you will provide expert assistance in the analysis of federal and state laws and regulations to determine the impact on agency programs.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To, The Following
- Identify and analyze major issues and trends requiring resolution as to violations of Kentucky statutes and regulations. Evaluate data from an in-house database and identify complaint trends specific to Kentucky residents. Operate internal database used track, manage, and update complaints. Evaluate statistical data received and distributed to the National Association of Insurance commissioners (NAIC) for national dissemination.
- Write instructional material and develop forms for consumer use on the department website. Analyze policy and procedures issue and make suggestions for complaints received within the division and nationally from cooperation with the NAIC.
- Correspond and cooperate with other divisions within the Department of Insurance, and other state departments of insurance and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. Provide assistance in the analysis of federal and state laws and regulations to determine impact on agency programs.
- Respond to complex inquiries that require in-depth research of program policy to assist investigators with complaint research to detect fraud, waste, and abuse.
